Legends in Beauty Ava Gardner

Wow! What a week! It's Friday night it's quiet here in the house,I just got out of a soak in my signature blend of Liquid Valium and I'm ready to chat with all of you. But first let me say this creation of LEGENDARY BEAUTY BATH SALTS is a pure labor of love, but it's a one woman operation here! I love the creating,blending,packaging..EVERYTHING ELSE..not so much! It'a all a bit overwhelming at times, but I'm so excited!
So like I said last night we are going to launch a coinciding bath soak with each Legend, I also thought I would add a little something extra maybe a movie suggestion, from our featured Legend and we can discuss it here on the blog, next friday,we can have friday night at the movies LEGENDARY BEAUTY STYLE!
So our first LEGENDARY BEAUTY IS ...AVA GARDNER and our signature soak for AVA IS LIQUID VALIUM!  Trust me after all the research I've done the name of this LUXURIOUS blend of LAVENDER&other SECRET BLENDS(hey that's the thing about being a LEGENDARY BEAUTY you keep some secrets to yourself!)Befits this LEGENDARY BEAUTY
Ava was discovered in 1941 when she went to visit her sister Beatrice(Bappie)in New York. Bappie's husband Larry Tarr was a professional photographer, he took Ava's photo and was so pleased with it that he displayed it in the front window of his "tony" 5th ave Tarr Photography Studio.
Well at that time a Loews Theatre clerk named Barnard "Barney" Duham would often pose as an MGM talent scout to meet girls! He used the fact that MGM was a subsidiary of Loews! So old "Barney" enters Tarrs Studio one day after seeing Ava's photo and used his old line to try and get her phone number, the receptionist flat out refused him! I'm sure Barney was a little disgruntled when he mumbled this..."Somebody should take her to MGM"! Guess what? The Tarrs did!
At the time Ava was a student at Atlantic Christian College but she and Bappie went to MGM'S New York office to be interviewed and Ava was given a standard contract by MGM ,so she left school for Hollywood with Bappie in toe.
MGM's first order of business was to get rid her of her Carolina Drawal, according to some, they could barely understand her!Did you know Ava was from Grabtown North Carolina? I didn't! MGM hired a speech coach and this is how the LEGENDARY BEAUTY AVA GARDNER STARTED.
Ava was a contract actress for many years, her breakout movie was The Killers, that's what I'm watching over the weekend, and I hope you do too!
If you would like to purchase our special blend this month in Liquid Valium you can check us out at LegendaryBeautyBath.etsy.com
Hope you all have a LEGENDARY weekend!
Time for this beauty to take a 2nd soak in Liquid Valium!
Goodnight All!!
XOXOXO

Legends in Beauty

I've created this blog, to chat about the Legendary Beauties, Ava, Audrey,Jean Liz, Mae, Joan and most of all you! Yep you read that right you! I sit and look at my friends and myself as well, between work, kids, and everything in between we as women think we can do it all and often forget about ourselves,or feel guilty for taking a "time out" if just for a 20 min soak in a luxurious bath without an intrusion.
I've been mixing special blends in my kitchen for years ,bath salts, soap, and such for my friends and have always packaged them  (all by hand) with a picture Of one the Legendary Beauties of Old Hollywood,I love that era ,what woman doesn't? The hair, makeup, clothes, but most importantly these women were strong, independant, sexy, and they didn't feel guilty about taking time for themselves, they embraced it! These women felt they deserved it!You know what? So do you! So I've created my Legendary Beauty Bath Salts and each month we will feature a new Legendary Beauty and a coinciding Bath Soak to let you bring out the Legendary Beauty in you! we will also learn what made these women Legendary Beauties because you know it's not all on the outside,it's inside as well ladies. We all have an inner Ava, Audrey,Jean,Joan,Liz and many more we will explore. So check back tomorrow to find out who our first featured Legend in Beauty is..goodnight all,Time for my Legendary soak!! More to come I promise!
